Awake From A Coma

          it was friday the 13th 1984, terry and his good friend chub lived in a mountain view. the roads at Ozarks are known as dangerous curves on that night terry went cruising with chub in his pick up truck. Chub lost control of the truck and crashed in a barrier , went up a steep bank then flew off to the side of the mountain. The truck landed on a dried up creek below , all night no one knew that terry crashed with his friend. the next day after the accident the police found chubs truck under the bridge. terry and chub were still alive and found hurt. the ambulance hurried them to the hospital and both of them were living but the doctors didnt expect both of them to live. 8 days later chub moore died and terry survived but his spinal cord wasnt in good conditions so he was paralyzed. the doctors also said that terry was in coma and they didnt know when he would wake up.

     A few months before this car crash terry had a  married his wife named sandi and they were  also poor , when they had their wedding she didnt have a real ring she only got a twist tie. They also had a daughter named amber.  A day after the car accident terry's parents got a call from the hospital , they were told that terry was paralyzed and in coma. Terry's moms would always talk to him , she knew he could hear her she could just feel it. The bad thing about terry is that his accident was so bad that he injured his brain stem that connects to the spinal cord.    

     Three months later in coma terry opened his eyes and his mother was excited and she told the doctor he had opened his eyes but the doctor said he was still in coma. mihai dimanceuscu a doctor who studies brain said " terrys conscious funtions shut off but all the basic funtions still work." Terrys mom kept talking to him and reading everyday. Eventually terry was moved from the hospital to a medical center and he stayed for the next 19 years. On holidays and his birthday his mom brought him home and his family never gave up on him.

     it had almost been 20 years and terry's first word when he finally woke up was "mom" his mother was bursting into tears and the nurse almost fainted. terry does not remember the accident , he remembered  things before the accident happened but he does not remember his accident at all. Terry's daughter is 20 years old , terry saw her daughter for the first time and he told her she was pretty and she cried and said " i love you dad." his wife had already remarried few years ago and now terry all wants to do is to learn how to walk again just for his daughter and the doctors thought terry wasn't going to be able to speak again.
