   Summer of Fear

The book Summer of Fear by Lois Duncan, is about a girl named Rachel who has her cousin Julia move in with her because her parents were in a car accident. Life was routine until some strange things start to happen.

The story begins of with a family sitting in a living room and having a conversation about there only relatives who were killed in a car accident. Rachel has no clue about what is going on and is very concerned. She asks her parents what happened and is in horror to hear the her only aunt and uncle were killed. So  her parents decide to take their niece and bring her home with them from the mountains of New Mexico. When they get home they notice something strange about Julia. Trickle, Rachel's dog has gotten very upset by the arrival of Julia and has started growling at her, which is very unusual for Trickle to do. Later in the book Trickle attacks Julia. In response Julia, tries anything thing to get rid of him, anything.

Then, Rachel and her mother are supposed to go on a day vacation to organize pictures for a magazine. The day of the trip Rachel finds out that Julia is supposed to go with them. Rachel thought it was just supposed to be her and mother and decides to stay home. When her mother leaves the next morning she decides to develop the pictures of American Girl magazine her mother has taken the day before. When she goes into the dark room she finds out that Julia stayed home and didn't go with her mother. She becomes very furious  when she realizes that Julia is ruining the pictures that have been taken for the magazine.

These are just some of the problems Rachel and her family has with Julia. To understand why Julia is so difficult you will have to read the Summer of Fear by Lois Duncan.

I liked the book for two reasons.
First, I like it because it very mysterious and it leaves you with a cliff hanger when you put it down.
Secondly, I like it because it has a lot of adventure and it makes you want to read more. It grabs the readers attention after thirty pages or so.

This book is like Dead Girls Don't Write Letters because it is very mysterious.
I would recommend reading Summer Of Fear by Lois Duncan to anyone looking for a good read!
